lcd indoor / outdoor display
what's lcd ?
LCD “Liquid Crystal Display” is a thin, flat display device commonly used in televisions and computer monitors. LCD is also used in the screens of mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops), calculators, digital cameras, digital watches and other similar devices.
How do LCD screens work?
As the term “liquid crystal display” implies, LCD use liquid crystals to turn pixels on and off to reveal a specific color.
An LCD is a stack of 5 layers: the front polarizer, the front electrode, the liquid crystal itself, the back electrode and the back polarizer.
The backlighting used in LCD can be LED (light emitting diode) or CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) backlighting.
Liquid crystals are like a mixture between a solid and a liquid, where an electric current can be applied to change their state so that a specific reaction occurs. These liquid crystals can be compared to a window shutter. When the shutter is open, light can easily pass into the room. With LCD, when the crystals are aligned in a particular way, they no longer allow light to pass through.
why using LCD screens ?
Exceptional color contrast and brightness
LCD screens have an exceptional color contrast and a constant brightness level. An LCD screen consists of liquid crystal which was not found in previous TVs. This liquid offers a better picture quality.
The LCD screen has a perfect angle for the viewing image. This means that a person can view an image at a 90-degree angle no matter where they are in the room.
Perfect viewing perspective
High durability
The lifespan of an LCD screen is much longer than the oldest technological televisions. The life cycle of a television is totally dependent on the brightness of the screen and the number of hours it is used.
An LCD monitor is economical in terms of cost and convenient maintenance.
Efficient in terms of cost and maintenance
Durable and easy to install
The LCD screen is very durable and can be easily installed by any person. The electricity requirement is also very less for these types of screens. LCD also have a very light weight.
What are the differences between LCD and LED?
Image quality
LED have better image quality for two reasons. LED displays work with a color wheel or by using RGB (red, green, blue) colored lights. This will allow the colored lights to produce brighter and more realistic colors. The second reason is that LED can also be dimmed. The ability to dim the backlight of LED displays allows the image to display a true black color by blocking the light and darkening the light to pass in front of the panel.

The technology
LCD screens use fluorescent lamps, while LED screens use light-emitting diodes. The location of the light in LED TVs can also be different. LCD screens always have their fluorescent lamps behind the screen. On LED screens, the light-emitting diodes may exist behind the screen on the edges of the screen. The lighting and placement of the lights has allowed LED to be thinner than LED screens. This also means that LED work with better energy efficiency and produce clearer and better quality images compared to LCD screens.
Since LCDs are thin, problems such as viewing angle and anti-reflection arise. Compared to LCDs, LEDs offer a better viewing angle. Both LED and LCD are known for the quality of playback and reading.
