Context

Located in the heart of Paris’s vibrant 18th arrondissement at Boulevard de Rochechouart, the iconic former Tati Barbès building underwent a creative transformation into Tatinho / Tribune Barbès. Partnering with Jordan Brand, this temporary pop-up space was designed as an immersive cultural hub combining sport, street fashion, music, and community creation.

To power the visual experience inside this landmark space, Street Co’ engineered and deployed a high-performance indoor LED display system. Serving as the focal point for World Cup match broadcasts, brand activations, and live DJ performances, the installation seamlessly blended state-of-the-art visual technology with the raw, industrial architecture of the historical retail venue.

Solution

Street Co’ selected the industry-grade Unilumin UPAD III rental LED system to build a seamless 4.0m × 2.0m (8 m²) video wall.

3D Design

Materials

  • Modular Cabinet Design: Constructed using 32 precision die-cast aluminum cabinets (500mm × 500mm), configured in an 8-wide by 4-high matrix to achieve an optimal 16:8 aspect ratio.
  • Ultra-Fast Lock Mechanism: The UPAD III’s magnetic auto-lock and single-person handling capabilities enabled rapid, secure assembly directly on site.
  • High Refresh Rate & Color Depth: Equipped with advanced driver ICs providing a refresh rate exceeding 3,840 Hz, ensuring zero flicker during camera captures, social media video shoots, and live broadcasts.
  • Front & Rear Serviceability: Magnetic LED modules allowed for instant front and rear maintenance without disturbing adjacent panels.

Challenge

Transforming a legacy retail venue into a multi-functional creative space presented unique technical and operational constraints:

  • Multi-Purpose Content Delivery: The screen needed to support diverse content streams, from high-speed live sports broadcasts (World Cup matches) requiring flawless refresh rates to high-contrast brand visuals (Jordan Jumpman branding) and dynamic event artwork.
  • Rapid Deployment & Modularity: Given the temporary nature of the pop-up, the display system required fast assembly, high structural stability, and easy maintenance.
  • Ambient Light & Viewing Angles: The display needed high brightness and wide viewing angles to remain vivid under multi-directional ambient studio lighting, stage lights, and daylight from neighboring glass windows.

Impact

The installation of the Unilumin UPAD III LED display at Tatinho Barbès successfully bridged high-end digital technology with urban culture, turning a historic retail venue into an immersive community landmark. By providing a high-brightness, camera-ready focal point for World Cup live broadcasts, custom apparel workshops, and brand activations with Jordan Brand, the display significantly elevated visitor engagement and social media shareability.

The ultra-flexible, lightweight modular system allowed for seamless operation under intensive event conditions, demonstrating Street Co’s ability to deliver high-impact, temporary digital experiences in complex architectural environments.
