Context / environment
In 2020, SMC was looking to add a digital touch, a wow factor, to their overall project at Finsbury Tower building renovation. Finsbury tower is a huge shopping mall in the center of London.
Since we have a solid reputation in UK and Europe for interactive digital screens they decided to partner with us for the design and supply of the hardware of an interactive LED Floor screen at the entrance of the building to wow the client in his very first steps in the building.
The brief was simple and straightforward:
‘What is the best product to create a High-definition flexible LED display at the entrance?’
They also wanted to set themselves apart from all the ‘Deja vu’ luxury concept store.
Solution : install led floor interactive
After a few months working on the dimensions and solution we finally settled on a 4.5×4.5m (20.25m2) Interactive LED Floor P3.9.
P3.9 is one of the smallest Pixel Pitch on the market for Interactive LED Floor which gives the floor an exceptional resolution of 1153×1153. SMC took the initiative to prepare the site to flush the interactive floor in the ground using our new thin adjustable feets. This type of integration gives an amazing effect to the installation location.
At a later stage the client enquiries for a customized interactive content displaying the client’s logo on the screen. People are now playing with the logo like if it was a football ballon. Stepping on the edge of the logo makes it move forward.
The content on the LED floor will be customized and used for events like Sales, Anniversaries, special holidays, Christmas, to immerse the client even more in the current event.

Challenge to install interactive led floor
For this project, the biggest challenge was to fit this interactive LED floor in the overall renovation project’s budget.
Firstly, 3 interactive floors and an LED ceiling were considered for this shopping mall. After reviewing the LED product prices the client reconsidered the entire project and decided to keep only 1 big interactive LED Floor. We changed a few electronic components while keeping a product completely CE certified.
This project wasn’t that simple to manage due to the covid situation and the current construction material shortage (shortage and rise of metal price).
Due to this crisis the project had 1.5 month delay and we had to manage transportation by air-freight, which increased the overall project budget, to have the product arrive on time for the integration
Impact to install led floor interactive
Interactive screens have an amazing impact on the visitors and customers of our partners, keeping them amazed and attracted to the location, playing with the screens and discovering the different interactive contents and games that are available on our software.
Finsbury Tower is now attracting and keeping it’s customers much more efficiently due to this digital wow factor added at the entrance of the building. We are pretty sure that customers who have experienced this interactive LED floor have mentioned it to at least 2 friends who will eventually go see it by themselves.
