Context / environment : imagine the pop up of the future
StreetCo, being the only french LED supplier with stock of uncommon LED products (flexible LED), was selected by StudioXag to take care of Karl Lagerfled’s LED screens for the Paris shops (Galeries Lafayette and Saint-Germain).
Being mainly based in London, UK, StudioXag was looking for a strong partner for the digital part of their project in France.
Karl Lagerfled being a high-end brand successfully positioned himself in the center of the luxurious shopping center Galeries Lafayette on the famous street “Les Champs Elysees”, for their 1 month Pop-up event.
Solution to install a Flexible LED Column
The idea was to create an impressive and massive LED column in the center of the shopping center to immerse the bystanders into Karl Lagerfled’s world.
After studying the feasibility and budget of all the ideas that StudioXag had for Karl Lagerfeld, we finally settled on 1 huge central LED column for Galeries Lafayette et 1 standard indoor LED screen for the Saint-Germain Lagerfeld shop.
We decided to use our stock of NIC P2.6 Flexible LED Panels for the LED column and designed a wooden structure that would hold the screen and accessories.
For the Standard indoor LED screen we simply used our stock of P2.6 UPADIII rental cabinets, which are professional LED screens that we also use for Virtual Production.
Project Lead Time : 2 month

After studying the feasibility of the custom solution at length with the engineers at Street Communication, the team settled on a solution of Flexible LED screen.
The resolution of the screen is 2403×1153, which is enough to broadcast what is intended by the marketing team and with a brightness of 900 nits !
A ceiling support structure is also studied at length until the end of the project to achieve a perfect result and integration allowing the client to see only the part desired by the architects.
Components of the project:
- NIC P2.6 Flexible LED
- P2.6 UPADIII rental
- Brightness: 900 nits
- Wooden support structure
- LED Column size: 2m Diameter / 3m High / 6.25m perimeter.
- Quantity: 18m2

- Standard indoor LED screen size: 2mx2m
- Quantity: 4m2

Challenge to install a Flexible LED Column
For this project, one of the challenges was to produce the custom wood cabinet for the LED Column. Each rental project using flexible LED panels requires a custom supporting structure to integrate the LED panels and accessories.
After client validation on the drawings, timing was very sensitive and we had to use StudioXag’s workers to quickly create the structure for the on-site installation a few days later..
The biggest challenge was then to be able to install the entire LED column in 1 single night in Galeries Lafayette so that the brand could open their pop-up store the very next day.
Impact : to set up a flexible led column
For 1 month, the LED column, being placed in the center of this luxurious shopping mall, has attracted the attention of every single bystander. How could you not see this amazing digital installation right in the middle of this Pop-up store? Impossible!
The design work of StudioXag and the LED screens of StreetCo’ caught the attention and interest of all the shoppers and made it impossible not to have a look at the products Karl Lagerfled was promoting.
